Dustin Duve \n1:30-4:00 Workshop by Angie Buchanan (see bio below) \n4:00-5:00 Natural Path Sanctuary Tour- Optional \nAngie Buchanan/Certified Death Midwife and Instructor will offer a workshop that incorporates a grief portion (grief & anticipatory grief) in a talk about home funerals\, teaching how to care for our Beloved Dead\, demonstrate a couple different ways to shroud\, have the attendees contribute to an art project – decorating a cardboard coffin…and explain why being involved at this level can help lighten the burden of grief by providing resolution. \nBIO: Angie Buchanan\nReverend Angie Buchanan is the Founder and Spiritual Director of Earth Traditions\, and of Gaia’s Womb\, an interfaith spirituality group that has been producing retreats for women since 1998. With an education in Religious Studies\, Angie was first ordained as a minister in 2001. She is an activist for religious freedom\, a spiritual counselor\, and a rites of passage celebrant\, also currently serving as a Spiritual Advisor for students at the University of Chicago. She has developed a training program in Death Midwifery that provides hands-on\, intensive classes for inclusive\, compassionate end-of-life care\, grief work\, and family directed ecologically sensitive funerals. There is no cost for the tour.\nThe food forest includes newly planted areas through the Wisconsin Food Forests initiative (https://www.wisconsinfoodforests.com/) as well as more mature areas featuring a range of planting styles: guilds and contours and a mix of plants from the well known: apples\, pears\, and grapes\, to the lesser known: paw paw\, cornelian cherry\, honeyberry\, quince\, serviceberry\, currants\, and many more under and overstory plants. \nThe Farley Center is a certified organic farm where many growers rent land and share common resources like tractors\, irrigation lines\, and coolers.

DESCRIPTION:6/3/23 \nToo Sick Charlie at the Farley Center/SWWAP (Southwest Wisconsin Area Progressives) Outdoor concert series. \nhttps://toosickcharlie.com/ \nHosted by the Farley Center and the Southwest Wisconsin Area Progressives \nCost: $15 PAY AT THE DOOR\nSUPPORT YOUR LOCAL MUSICIANS!\nAll proceeds will go to the musicians \nCome join us for an in person concert with “Too Sick Charlie” at the Farley Center under the Bur Oak Welcoming Area (BOWA ). \nFOOD: Farley Center/Gani Moon Farmers Jen and Chandy Karnum will be selling pizza slices (1/6 of a 12 inch pizza) for $2 a slice or a full pizza (12 inch pizza) for $10. All homemade and herbs\, tomatoes for the sauce and vegetable toppings are grown at the Farley Center! \nWe are offering an informational tour with Farley Center Board Member Jeanne Meier at four- one hour before the concert. No charge for the tour \nWe are also offering a Food Forest Tour with Farley Center Staff Kalev Kristjuhan following the concert at 7:00-8:00. no charge for the tour. \nWe encourage attendees to come early or stay late and take a walk through the Natural Path Sanctuary and Farley Center farms. \nFarley Center honey ($10) and organic vegetables may be available. SUMMARY:Farley Walking Club First Walk of the Season!
DESCRIPTION:5/26/23 \nCome along for a stroll on the beautiful wooded walking trails located at The Farley Center!  \nPlease check the weather to dress accordingly and bring water as needed. Closed-toe shoes are suggested as we will be walking along dirt trails.\nWe will walk for approximately an hour\, but if others feel up to it\, we can extend our walk as necessary. \nWe will meet about 10 minutes before our walk at the picnic tables located near the BOWA (Bur Oak Welcoming Area) located to the right of the driveway as you pull in.\nPlease note\, this is not a formal tour\, but a casual walk throughout The Farley Center grounds. \nLooking forward to seeing everyone out there! \nHosted by: Katrina Krueger\, Linda & Gene Farley Center for Peace\, Justice and Sustainability and Farley Center Walking Club
