Beni Daiko would like more people to learn about taiko and enjoy the music and not worry about money! \nSUPPORT YOUR LOCAL MUSICIANS!\nAll proceeds will go to the musicians\nCome join us for an in person concert with the “Madison Japanese Taiko Drumming Group – “BENI DAIKO” at the Farley Center under the Bur Oak Welcoming Area (BOWA). \n“Beni” means “Deep color of Red” which represents Madison.\n“Taiko” means “drum” in Japanese. \nIn Japan. In Japanese\, taiko literally means “drum\,” though the term has also come to refer to the art of Japanese drumming\, also known as kumi-daiko. Taiko has been a part of the Japanese culture for centuries. \nWe encourage attendees to come early or stay late and take a walk through the Natural Path Sanctuary and Farley Center farms. \nWe are offering an INFORMATIONAL TOUR with Farley Center Board Member Jeanne Meier at noon – one hour before the concert. \nFOOD FOREST TOUR\, 2:30-3:30 following the concert with Farley Center Farmers Ian Aley and Natallia Biareishyk. DESCRIPTION:5-15-2022 \nCome visit the food forests at the Farley Center with Farmers Ian Aley and Natallia Biareishyk!\nThe food forest includes newly planted areas through the Wisconsin Food Forests initiative as well as more mature areas featuring a range of planting styles: guilds and contours and a mix of plants from the well known: apples\, pears\, and grapes\, to the lesser known: paw paw\, cornelian cherry\, honeyberry\, quince\, serviceberry\, currants\, and many more under and overstory plants. \nThe Farley Center is a certified organic farm where many growers rent land and share common resources like tractors\, irrigation lines\, and coolers.

Shedd will share about his passion for green burials and Natural Path Sanctuary\, a nature preserve burial ground also known as a green cemetery. Natural Path Sanctuary is located in Verona and is the first cemetery in Dane County\, WI\, that exclusively follows natural/green burial practices. \nPresenters:\nMelissa Theisen\, Advanced Planning and Aftercare Specialist: Melissa grew up in rural Montello but has called the Madison area home for over 30 years. She has a passion for helping people\, and considers it an honor to help families have memorable experiences at a difficult time. \nNickie Gard\, Licensed Funeral Director and Advanced Planning and Aftercare Specialist: Nickie graduated from the Des Moines Community College Mortuary Science Advanced Standing Program in 2020\, and in early 2021 she earned her funeral director’s license. She is also a certified National Veteran’s Benefits representative.
