Dr. Michele Brogunier
Past Board Member

Dr. Michele Brogunier served on the board of the Natural Path Sanctuary from 2012 to 2016. The sanctuary was founded in June 2011 as a nature preserve burial ground/cemetery with an educational component that is focused on promoting sustainable end-of-life care choices and burial practices.

She is a family physician with over fifteen years of clinical experience, with a strong focus in the care of women, infants and children. She is a member of Wisconsin Physicians for Social Responsibility and the Wisconsin Environmental Health Network.

One area of her interest and activity has been climate change, first spurred by WEHN's Making the Connection 2014 conference and the American Academy of Family Physicians article Slowing Global Warming: Benefits for Patients and the Planet (Am Fam Physician. 2011 Aug 1;84(3):271-278.).

Raised in the Religious Society of Friends in Maine, Dr. Brogunier's learned a philosophy of living lightly on the land at a young age. She is an active member of Madison (Friends) Monthly Meeting. With her work for environmental justice she strives to continue the work of her late mentors, Dr. Gene and Linda Farley and Dr. Jeff Patterson.
