Penn Engebose served on the NPS Board 2017- 2022. She was secretary of the NPS Board in 2018 and continued in that capacity until she was voted in as NPS Board Chair in 2021
Penn came to the Board with extensive experience in business administration, performing in a variety of roles. For the last twenty years she has been Hospital Manager for Lakeside Animal Hospital in Glendale.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Penn has been a reliable and dedicated volunteer in the community, having served as ESL tutor, an Alverno Alumni Board Member, a hospice companion for Horizon Home Care and Hospice, and a volunteer for the Grief Resource Center event planning and fundraising.
Penn is passionately committed to social justice through equity in education and job opportunities for immigrants, minorities, and women. She is also a staunch advocate of environmental protection.
Once a year she is a proud member of the “3 Belgian Salsa Co.” which operates out of a garage for two days to can over 200 pints of salsa.
In the summer of 2017, Penn and her wife, Peg, were pleased to choose their space in NPS near two shagbark hickory trees. The trees are one at the base. They knew it’s perfect for them when Shedd said “that’s what happens when two nuts grow together.”
