Natural Path Sanctuary – A Day with the NPS staff
Director Shedd Farley, Senior NPS Asst. Kalev Kristjuhan and NPS Asst. Dustin Duve will host the day with a tour and workshops. Light refreshments will be served.
This event will take place OUTDOORS and a good portion will take place walking in the Sanctuary. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and bring your water bottles.
This event will take place RAIN OR SHINE.
Burials happen year around in snow, rain or sun.

Why are bodies called “stiffs”? I don’t know either, because they aren’t! That’s where shroud boards come in! Learn the ins and outs of the simple design, construction and use of this essential shroud burial device.
** Mock Burial Workshop
“Participants have the opportunity to learn what the green burial process entails by participating in a simulated version of it. This workshop includes Q&A with a Natural Path Sanctuary Cemetarian, pallbearing and even lowering “dead” weight into a grave.”

You MUST reserve a spot by e-mailing programs@farleycenter.org or calling the Farley Center at 608-845-8724. Tours fill up fast so if you sign up and need to cancel, please let us know so we can add another from our waitlist.
Come take a walk through the Natural Path Sanctuary and learn about green burial.
NPS Asst. Dustin Duve will give a walking tour presentation of the Natural Path Sanctuary. Meet at the bur oak tree near the red packing shed at the Farley Center at 9:50 a.m.. Please wear good walking shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Please check back on the facebook page for any changes due to the weather.
THIS IS AN OUTDOOR PRESENTATION – THERE WILL NOT BE A PRESENTATION IN THE CENTER. THE FARLEY CENTER BUILDING IS CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC BUT THERE ARE PORTABLE TOILETS FOR USE.

Fall Walk at The Farley Center

Let’s enjoy a casual walk around The Farley Center to enjoy the fall colors and each other’s company! Please dress accordingly, as the weather may be chilly. We will walk for approximately an hour, but if others feel up to it, we can extend it as necessary.
This is not a formal tour, but a casual walk amongst friends.

Pre-order tamales by the dozen (deadline for orders is Sept. 28)
El Sabor de Puebla/Reyna Gonzalez will have food available for purchase at the Farley Center Fall Festival. If you would like to order tamales in advance, we can take orders for a dozen/$25 for pork, chicken or jalapeno and cheese (vegetarian). Reyna will package all of one kind in a dozen/package (no mixing per dozen). Order for the holidays – no limit on how many dozen you can order!
Place your order with programs@farleycenter.org and put “Tamales” in the subject line and we will give Reyna your order and she will bring the frozen tamales for pick up/payment at the Fall Festival. Cash or make checks out to El Sabor de Puebla.

“Too Sick Charlie” at Fall Festival 2022!

Too Sick Charlie (Eric Heiligenstein, M.D.) plays the cigar box guitar, a once forgotten instrument of American blues and roots music. His music has been described as traditional Upper Midwestern cigar box guitar blues.

De Los Santos’ music has become a staple of Madison. Known to some as the “Madison Marimba Man,” he can be spotted playing spontaneously on State Street or at the Dane County Farmers’ Market. And now at Farley Center Fall Festival 2022.

Farley Center Volunteer Day

Please join the TDS employees and other Farley Center volunteers working outdoors at the Farley Center.
Meet at the Center at 8:50 a.m. at the Bur Oak Welcoming Area (BOWA) near the red packing shed.
There will be a variety of outdoor tasks so dress for outdoor weather and bring work gloves and water bottles. If you have any questions, please e-mail programs@farleycenter.org.
